Feasts & holidays
This is a rather difficult section to put together, for several reasons. First of all, anyone who has seen our (or any ancient egyptian) festival calendar, knows how insanely many festivals, feasts and the alike there are! I'm not even sure our Nisut (AUS) celebrates each and every one, though She is more likely to than anyone else in the faith. In the end, which feasts one actually celebrates is highly individual. I've merely tried to sum up a few large or semi-so festivals here.
Secondly, it's not easy to establish what one can do for each festival, beyond its most basic function - we don't quite know what the people of Kemet did on these occasions. That's where individual thought and inventive/creative thinking comes in! So what I've said on the following festival pages are only suggestions and things I may try myself - by no means are they "official" activities etc.
Monthly celebrations
There are many celebrations that occur on a monthly basis (monthly = kemetic months, not gregorian). For example, on the first day of each kemetic month, one should say prayers to your Parent Name(s), and set goals for yourself. And on the last day of the kemetic month, one should honour Ra, Heru and Wesir especially, and meditate on the goals of the past month.
On the sixth day of any kemetic month, there is an akhu festival (simply the Sixth Day Festival). You then read the names of your ancestors aloud, and give them offerings, or honour them in some other way. Something similar is also done at the half-month festival - you offer cool water to your akhu and your Parent(s).
Full moon and new moon celebrations are also part of the calendar. During full moon you may want to honour Khnum, along with the goddesses Anuket and Meret - but I've also seen it connected to Sokar, Heru, Wesir, Djehuty and Iah. The new moon seems more connected to Heru-sa-Aset than anyone else, but I can't say for sure.
Minor celebrations
I think I can safely say that much depends on what Names you experience as close to you - if you're a child of Hethert (Hathor) or just very close to Her, you may want to celebrate Her feasts & festivals (which, by the way, are an awful lot) above all others. For the same reason, I'm likely to be partial to Bast-related celebrations above all else, and choose to celebrate those mainly. Then I may want to honour my Beloveds on Their feasts, and finally a few other Names I feel connected to. So it all depends on Who you feel you should honour, and no one will smite you for not paying attention to every holiday there is - 'cause that'd be pretty hectic!
